Greenman Family Cemetery

Situated on the family farm of Stephen Van Rensselaer Greenman, this small burial ground is located in an orchard on Greenman Road approximately .38 miles north of Platten Road and .08 miles to the west of Greenman Road.

In February of 1933, Theta Hakes Brown produced an inventory of headstones within the Greenman Family Cemetery. She stated in her notes: "[Located] on the Harry Stangland Farm about twenty rods west of the Greenman road in an orchard about fifteen rods north of Stangland farm house..." In subsequent notes added by Janice Dates of the Orleans Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Dates noted: "Visited cemetery personally in summer 1975, very overgrown." The cemetery includes eighteen known burials, based on headstones at the time of the latest inventory taken in 1975. The earliest burial, that of Silas Greenman, took place circa 1822.
